by Mr. Stoner, the board unanimously approved the minutes
of the Regular Meeting April 19, 2005.

Mr. Bergevin shared with the Board
current information regarding the Governors May Revise. Mr. Bergevin also informed the Board that
the State Department had given approval of the architectural plans for El
Camino Real Elementary. Mr. Bergevin
shared with the Board of visits he had taken to Sierra Vista Campus for their
annual country tours and extended an invitation to each Board member. Mr. Bergevin also gave a copy of a news
letter that included reports from each school site.
Mrs. Kavanagh informed the Board
that a Special Education Review was taking place this week beginning May 16, 2005. She also shared with the Board that work is
being done to complete the compliance issues as a result of our CCR in April,
those results will be mailed to the State by May 20, 2005.
Finally, Mrs. Kavanagh proudly shared with the Board that on Monday May 16, 2005 the
AUSD held a Redesignation Presentation honoring 94 ELL students that attained
English proficiency this year.
Mr. Hemple addressed the Board with
concerns he had regarding the new school site being located in a flood zone
and easement access of location for sewer lines. Finally he suggested that the District
needs to communicate more with the City of Arvin and the Arvin Community Service District. He also expressed concerns regarding the
completion of Meyer Street. He offered to be a part of negotiations
related to sewer access issues.
