    Minutes of the Special Meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Arvin Union School District held on March 7, 2006.

 

The meeting was called to order by Mr. Stoner at 6:35 p.m.

Others Present: Mr. Bill Melby and Mr. Joe Covington of Ordiz-Melby Architect; Ms. Renee Goodwin and Mr. Tom Reid of Colombo Construction Company.

Mr. Bergevin informed the Board there were no changes to the agenda.

Public Communication

 

 

Mr. Bergevin introduced Mr. Melby, Mr. Covington, Ms. Goodwin and Mr. Reid. Ms. Goodwin led a discussion explaining the bid process for awarding contracts for the El Camino Real Elementary School construction project.  Bids were received on March 2, 2006 for earthwork and electrical work. As a result of the discussion it was necessary to call for a special meeting on Friday, March 10, 2006 at 5:30 p.m. at the Arvin Union School District board room to consider approval of the remaining bid awards. After further discussion the following action was taken.

Superintendent’s Report

 

 

On motion of Mr. Owens, seconded by Mrs. Tarver, the board unanimously approved, on the basis of Base bid plus alternate 2, the award of Bid Package No. 023-00 Earthwork for El Camino Real School to Louis Todd Corporation in the amount of $624,000.00.

On motion of Mrs. Tarver, seconded by Mr. Sanchez, the board unanimously approved, on the basis of Base bid plus alternate 2, the award Bid Package No. 160-01 Electrical for El Camino Real School to A-C Electric in the amount of $1,784,000.00.

On motion of Mrs. Tarver, seconded by Mr. Sumaya, the board unanimously approved the Second Interim Report of the Arvin Union School District for the fiscal year 2005/06.

On motion of Mr. Owens, seconded by Mr. Sumaya, the board unanimously adjourned the meeting at 7:52 p.m.
