Minutes of the Arvin Union School District Board of Trustees Special Meeting held on May 22, 2007.

The meeting was called to order by Mr. Stoner at 6:30 p.m.	Call to Order

Mr. Stoner welcomed the audience and extended a public thank you to Dr. Kenneth R. Bergevin for a job well done during his four years of service as Superintendent for the Arvin Union School District and wished him well on his future. Mr. Stoner then introduced Mr. Bud Burrow.	Communications from the public

Mr. Burrow greeted the board and extended his thanks for being invited to advise them at this time during the process of seeking an interim superintendent whether it is in house or candidates from outside the district. Mr. Burrow would provide information to the board regarding possible candidates available to become an interim superintendent at a later meeting. The candidates are usually retired superintendents that have the knowledge and experience to come into a district and address immediate needs that are crucial to that district. The duration of the assignment could be for three to five months depending on the length of the superintendent search process.	Communications from the public

Mr. Stoner, along with Mr. Burrow, then led an open discussion between the audience and the board members expressing their concerns and needs regarding the process of selecting an interim superintendent. No vote was necessary. Mr. Stoner announced it was necessary to call another special meeting on June 5, 2007 at 6:30 p.m. to be held at the AUSD district office at which time the board would take action to appoint an interim superintendent.

On motion of Mr. Owens, seconded by Mr. Sumaya, the board unanimously approved to adjourn the meeting at 7:18 p.m.	Adjournment
