Video Contest Rules
All videos will be
viewed for rule compliance prior to viewing by the judges. Any video that does
not meet all the rules will be returned to the participant with an explanation.
Deadline for submission is February 28, 2008, at 3:10 pm.
1) Only students and current staff
members of
2) All
participants must have at least one student enter in one contest (any contest,
1st-8th grade only!)
3) No commercially prepared videos are
allowed. You must edit your own video.
4) Videos can not be longer than 5
(5:00)-10 minutes (10:00), depending on the category. There is no minimum
length for ‘Short’.
5) Videos must be in .wmv
(Windows Media Video) or .avi (Audio Video Interleave
format.
6) Participants may submit 1 video per
category (listed below).
7) No obscene language, obscene text, or
obscene musical lyrics are allowed. The
contents of the video and any sound track in the video should be appropriate
for a K-8 educational setting.
8) Participants can reveal only their
first name in the video. By entering the contest you agree to have your video
shown on our web site or as part of demonstrations.
9) By entering the contest you agree to
abide by the judges’ decisions. Judges will submit their judging forms, which
will be returned to the participant. Judges are not staff, students, or
community members (of AUSD or Arvin).
Divisions: Students; staff
Categories: General (Short-5 minutes or less)-
General (5-10 minutes)- Video Slideshow-(5 minutes or less) collection
of still images with or without sound track.
Submit: The entry form below with two (2)
copies of the video on cd labeled with category,
participant’s first and last name, teacher’s name (for students), and school. Cds should be appropriately protected with a sleeve or case.
Awards: 1st, 2nd, and
3rd place in each division and category will be awarded a trophy. 1st
place in each division and category will also receive a prize yet to be
determined.
